About Our Client

Our client is Australia's largest coal miner and exporter, the world's largest supplier to the sea borne coking coal market and largest coal producer and supplier of metallurgical coal. The client has several mine sites across the Bowen Basin consisting primarily of open cut mines.

We are currently seeking experienced Underground Mechanical Fitters to join a well-established mining operation within the Development Department, with start dates from July through to early August. These roles offer excellent hourly rates, consistent rosters, and the opportunity to work in a high-performing underground environment.

What You Will Be Doing

As an Underground Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing underground mining equipment while ensuring safe and reliable operations. These positions require candidates with proven underground experience across development, outbye, or longwall environments.

• Performing maintenance, repairs, and breakdown work on underground equipment
• Supporting development operations to ensure optimal equipment reliability
• Diagnosing faults and completing preventative maintenance tasks
• Adhering to site safety procedures and compliance requirements
• Working collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams

What You Will Need

• Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter (essential)
• Demonstrated underground mining experience in one or more of the following:

Outbye

Development

Longwall

• Strong focus on safety and safe work practices
• Current Drivers Licence
