About the Role
We are seeking a reliable Machine Operator to join the ABFI Steel Group team based in Wacol, QLD for an immediate start. In this hands-on role, you will operate machinery and equipment to assist in the processing and fabrication of steel products, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.
You will be part of a fast-paced production team, responsible for operating machinery, handling materials, performing basic quality checks, and supporting general workshop duties as required. This is a great opportunity to build your skills in a supportive and well-established steel manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate machinery and equipment used in steel fabrication and production
- Read and follow work instructions, job sheets, and basic drawings
- Load, unload, and move steel materials safely
- Perform basic quality checks to ensure products meet specifications
- Carry out routine machine setup, operation, and basic maintenance checks
- Assist across general workshop and production areas as required
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in machine operation or manufacturing (preferred)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Safety-conscious with a strong work ethic
- Good communication and ability to work in a team
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Forklift ticket (desirable)
