The Role & Project

MACA Mining are seeking a LV Fitter to join our team at Karlawinda on a 2:1 Rostrer ( Days + Nights ).

Located near Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, The Karlawinda Gold Project is a high-quality, long-life open-pit gold mine owned by Capricorn Metals. It’s one of the newest and most productive gold operations in the state, with a projected mine life of over a decade and ongoing production that exceeds 100,000 ounces of gold per year.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on light vehicles and LV fleet

  • Perform component change-outs, repairs and minor rebuilds in line with manufacturer and site standards.

  • Complete maintenance documentation, service reports and defect logs accurately and on time.

  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with MACA safety policies, procedures and mine site requirements.

  • Conduct pre-start inspections and identify potential defects or safety risks.

  • Maintain high housekeeping standards in workshop and work areas.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Trade qualification as a Light Vehicle Mechanic or LV Fitter.

  • Previous experience maintaining and repairing light vehicles and LV fleet in a mining or heavy industrial environment (highly regarded).

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical systems.

  • Commitment to working safely and following site procedures and standards.

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong time management and organisational skills to meet maintenance schedules.

  • Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.

  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence (HR licence advantageous)

  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening.
