The opportunity
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the Light Vehicle Mechanic ensures the PLS fleet of LV & LT (Light Vehicles & Light Trucks) is maintained in a safe and mechanically sound condition to deliver safe and reliable performance and ensure that PLS interests are always protected.
This is a permanent full-time role which operates on an 8/6 7/7 (days & nights) FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure that works being performed are done so in a safe manner, and in line with company OH&S standards.
- To inspect, service, maintain and repair Light Vehicles and Light Trucks for which you are trained and authorised for, within manufacturer’s specifications, limitations and in accordance with site procedures and instructions.
- Work collectively as part of the Site Mobile Maintenance Team (HME), to ensure safe, efficient and prompt inspections, servicing, maintenance and repair of equipment, adhere to schedules and plans, and actively participate in achievement of targets.
- Attend work during rostered periods and comply with PLS Fitness for Work policies.
- Communicate with the Mobile Maintenance Workshop Supervisor on day-to-day activities.
About you
- Education: Relevant nationally recognised trade qualification.
- Certificates: High Risk Work Licences: Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights.
- Licences: Current and Valid Driver’s Licence (Minimum C Class).
- Minimum 1 year post trade mine site exposure and experience with Light Vehicle and Light Truck maintenance repairs across a variety of makes and models of equipment (Toyota, Hino, Isuzu).
- Strong commitment to a safety culture.
- Experience in the mining industry.
- Ability to work as a part of a team.
- Strong knowledge and experience of Workshop standards, processes and techniques.
- Proven strong collaborative and liaison skills, with a good understanding of operations and equipment usage.
