An exciting opportunity exists for current employees to Express Interest in newly created Leading Hand Open Pit Mining roles at our Jupiter Pit. We are seeking experienced and motivated Operators to join our dynamic and innovative team at our Laverton operations, where the ‘way we work’ is just as important as the expertise we demonstrate every day.
The Opportunity:
A combination of external and site-based training as well as mentoring from senior site leadership to develop into a future leader within the business.
A dedicated two year program which will include:
-
Coaching and experience in activities related to the Supervisor Open Pit Mining role, supported by site leadership, across the following areas:
- Development of skills and experience in delivering daily PSIs
- Coaching and experience in conducting incident investigations
- Coaching and experience to complete mid and end of shift reporting
- Coaching on pit inspections, looking beyond moving TMM and looking at safe systems of work
- Coaching and experience related to our Fatal Risk Management system (FRM) and conducting Fatal Risk Control Verifications (FRCV’s) in the field
- Exposure to mine planning

Training for the WHS units of competency.
- BSBWHS414 - Contribute to WHS risk Management
- BSBWHS411 – Implement and Monitor WHS policies

Time and Training to complete the S.26 statutory Supervisor course
We’re excited to hear from you if you are an experienced Operator looking to progress into a leadership role, and have:

Over 8 years of mining experience (preferable)
