About the Role
One of Australia's leading mining services providers, to recruit experienced Leading Hands - Heavy Diesel Fitters for operations across the Goldfields region of Western Australia.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for an experienced tradesperson ready to step into a position where you can mentor a team while remaining actively involved on the tools.
Leading Hands typically spend around 80% of their time supporting maintenance activities in the field, while also assisting Supervisors with team coordination, planning and performance
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established mining contractor operating across major WA mine sites.
Shift Timings & Salary
- FIFO from Perth
- Roster options: 8:6, 7:7 or 2:2
- Up to $82/hr site rate ($79/hr + $3 site bonus)
- Work across established operations in the Goldfields region
- Long-term opportunities with a reputable mining services business
Sites include Bannockburn and Orelia, supporting large production mining fleets.
What you'll be doing
As a Leading Hand, you will:
- Lead and mentor a team of technicians and trades personnel
- Provide hands-on support across maintenance activities
- Assist Supervisors with maintenance coordination and planning
- Promote strong safety leadership and compliance on site
- Support reliability and performance of heavy mining equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues across the fleet
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and team performance

- Liebherr R9400 Excavators | Hitachi EX1900-6 Excavators | Hitachi EH3500-3AC Haul Trucks
- Caterpillar D10T Dozers | Caterpillar 16H Graders | Caterpillar 773E & 777D Water Carts
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Australian recognised Trade Certificate - Heavy Diesel Fitter
- Extensive post-trade experience with heavy earthmoving equipment
- Strong exposure to Caterpillar, Komatsu or Hitachi machinery
- Previous mine site leadership experience
- Experience leading teams of 10+ personnel
- Strong commitment to safety and team culture
- Solid troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Exposure to AMT systems will be highly regarded

Additional Requirements
- Proof of right to work in Australia
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol screening
