About the Role
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the Leading Hand – Mobile Maintenance plays a hands-on leadership role supporting both surface and underground workshops. You will coordinate daily maintenance activities, guide trades, and ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective repairs of mobile plant. This role requires a self-sufficient operator who can step up when required, support team development, and help maintain strong performance across equipment availability and work quality.
Key Responsibilities include
- Leading maintenance activities across surface and underground workshops
- Coordinating and allocating daily work to tradespeople
- Completing maintenance tasks and ensuring accurate work order documentation
- Coaching and mentoring tradespeople and apprentices
- Supporting problem solving and root cause analysis activities
- Maintaining compliance with HSE systems, critical controls, and statutory requirements
- Contributing to continuous improvement and cost-effective maintenance practices
- Promoting strong communication and teamwork across maintenance and operations
About You
You are a trade-qualified maintenance professional with significant mobile plant experience in a mining environment. You will bring strong technical capability, sound diagnostic skills, and the ability to work both independently and as a leader. You are confident stepping up when required, able to guide and mentor others, and maintain discipline, professionalism, and high work standards.
