An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Leading Hand - Workshop to join our Service Department in Wacol.
Leading a team of 12 employees, this role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day workshop operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement. The position remains hands-on, with the successful candidate expected to be approximately 50% productive on the tools while providing technical guidance and leadership to the team
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating daily workshop activities and workflow
- Providing technical support, diagnostics and repair expertise
- Conducting quality inspections and ensuring documentation compliance
- Supporting technician utilisation and workshop productivity
- Assisting with machinery appraisals, repairs and maintenance programs
- Driving safety, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
- Providing mentoring, coaching and knowledge transfer to technicians and trades assistants
- Supporting reporting requirements, warranty processes and service documentation standards
Roster & Remuneration
Roster: Monday to Friday – 5:00am to 13:57pm (9-day fortnight) Hourly Rates: $52.48 - $55.06 per hour base + $200 per week Leading Hand Allowance + Super Role Located: Wacol, QLD

What we are looking for
- Must have a trade qualification in Mobile Plant Technology or similar
- Previous experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory capacity (Advantageous)
- Strong diagnostic and repair capabilities on earthmoving or heavy equipment
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to coordinate workshop activities and support team performance
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office systems
- MR Driver's Licence preferred
- Forklift license preferred
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to build effective working relationships
