About the Role

We are partnering with a Perth-based engineering consultancy delivering EPCM solutions across mineral processing projects in Australia and internationally. With a strong pipeline across gold, lithium and emerging rare earths, we’re looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive technical delivery and mentor a growing team.

You’ll take ownership of mechanical engineering delivery across multiple projects, providing technical leadership while remaining hands-on in design and problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading mechanical engineering scopes across concept, feasibility and detailed design phases through to construction support and commissioning
  • Preparing and reviewing mechanical design deliverables including calculations, equipment sizing, datasheets and specifications
  • Providing technical oversight and assurance to ensure designs are compliant, practical and aligned to project requirements
  • Coordinating closely with multidisciplinary teams (process, structural, electrical, drafting) to deliver integrated design outcomes
  • Managing vendor engagement, technical bid evaluations and equipment selection to meet project objectives
  • Driving design reviews, risk identification and engineering governance across deliverables
  • Supporting project delivery to schedule and budget while maintaining high engineering quality standards
  • Acting as a key interface with clients, offering solutions and building long-term relationships
  • Mentoring and developing junior and mid-level engineers, strengthening team capability

About You

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 12+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering within mining / mineral processing environments
  • Strong background in gold, lithium, rare earths or similar processing projects
  • Proven experience delivering within EPC / EPCM consultancies across the full project lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering scopes and guide multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong technical capability across fixed plant, materials handling and process equipment
  • Ability to interpret complex scopes, identify design improvements and resolve technical challenges
  • Confident engaging with clients, stakeholders and vendors
