BHP are seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to join our team in Newman in a residential role, reporting to the Processing Services Superintendent. This opportunity is a residential position based in Newman and working a lifestyle roster (typically a - 4 days on, 5 days off, 5 days on, 4 days off, 5 days on, 5 days off rotating roster)
About this role
In this role you will:
- Demonstrate commitment and conformance to the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct, and relevant statutory obligations.
- Manage your team’s performance to ensure accurate and timely results are reported to our customers
- Monitor and Control automation of sample preparation and analysis processes.
- Ensure safe operations by monitoring duties being performed are in accordance with established operating standards, procedures, and work instructions.
- Conduct incident investigations and implement appropriate actions.
- Lead a team to problem solve and continually improve their work off a base of Standardised Work, and making frontline work safer, easier, better.
- Prioritises work effort and resources accordingly. Know our customer and strive to meet their needs.
About You
As the ideal candidate you will have:
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor qualification
- Laboratory skills cert IV or experience working within a laboratory environment.
- High risk fork licence desirable.
- You will have an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility.
- Truly inspire people to engage and be part of a high performing team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence effectively.
- Sound knowledge of Risk Management systems and processes.
