IT Asset Management (ITAM) Product Owner - Technology

Our Opportunity

Work Location:  Perth.  Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday.

We are seeking an experienced IT Asset Management (ITAM) Product Owner Specialist to lead and mature Fortescue’s global ITAM capability across Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM).

This role is responsible for defining, governing and continuously improving how IT assets are managed across the organisation. Acting as the global subject matter expert, you will design and embed asset lifecycle practices, ensure compliance and audit readiness, and provide meaningful insight through data, reporting and ServiceNow capabilities.

Working closely with Service Operations, procurement, finance, and technology teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring asset visibility, compliance and cost optimisation across Fortescue’s technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and govern Fortescue’s global IT Asset Management (ITAM) practice across SAM and HAM
• Define and maintain ITAM policies, lifecycle models, processes and governance standards
• Lead the design and evolution of ITAM capabilities within ServiceNow, ensuring alignment with CMDB and service management practices
• Develop dashboards and reporting to provide visibility of asset lifecycle, compliance, risks and optimisation opportunities
• Ensure asset and configuration data integrity, quality and completeness across the environment
• Partner with procurement, finance and risk teams to support licence compliance, audit readiness and cost optimisation
• Provide expert guidance to global teams and offshore partners to embed ITAM practices across operations
• Drive continuous improvement of ITAM maturity, processes and tooling across the organisation

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience in IT Asset Management across both Software and Hardware Asset Management in large enterprise environments
• Proven experience designing and governing ITAM practices and lifecycle models
• Strong expertise in ServiceNow ITAM, including SAM and HAM modules, workflows, data models and reporting
• Strong understanding of software licensing models, vendor audits and compliance risk management
• Experience working with offshore or managed service delivery models
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across cross-functional teams
• Tertiary qualification in IT, Business, Finance or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• ITIL 4 Practitioner: IT Asset Management or equivalent ITAM certification (IAITAM) highly regarded
