Integrated Stage Works Manager - Brownfield Rail

Job Description
UGL is delivering a complex brownfield rail construction project in a live operational environment. This is the kind of work where smart planning, tight integration, and clear decision‑making are critical to success.
The project involves staged configuration changes delivered within defined possession windows, with multiple delivery streams operating in parallel. It’s challenging, high‑impact work — and we’re looking for someone who knows how to pull it all together.
About the Job
As the Integrated Stage Works Manager, you’ll lead the strategic planning and integration of stage works across all delivery streams to ensure critical scope is sequenced, risk‑managed, and delivered within Base Track Possession Schedule windows to achieve nominated Configuration Changes.
Your focus will be bringing clarity to complex staging challenges, aligning disciplines around a single forward‑looking plan, and making sure the project is genuinely ready to go when it matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning and integration of stage works across all delivery streams
- Coordinate sequencing of critical scope to align with possession windows and access constraints
- Maintain a clear, integrated strategy that supports safe and efficient brownfield delivery
- Establish and manage transparent Go / No‑Go criteria for stage execution
- Drive strong readiness reporting and proactive risk identification
- Assess changes that impact scope, staging or possessions, and clearly articulate risk / benefit outcomes
- Work closely with construction, engineering, access, commissioning and project leadership teams
- Support confident decision‑making through clear communication and practical recommendations
Why You’d Want this Job
- Genuine ownership of staging, readiness, and integration outcomes
- A high‑profile brownfield rail project with real complexity
- The opportunity to shape strategy — not just follow a plan
- A practical, collaborative team that values clear thinking
- Competitive salary and long‑term career opportunities with UGL
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
- Extensive experience delivering brownfield rail infrastructure projects, including staging, planning and delivery in live rail environments
- Strong schedule literacy, including Gantt‑based programs and time‑chainage planning
- Demonstrated ability to integrate multiple disciplines and align teams to a common delivery plan
- High‑level facilitation and decision‑making skills, with confidence leading complex discussions
