About the Role
We operate a 12-month (September 2027 - August 2028) student placement programme within our Formula E Control Systems group. This is an exciting opportunity where you will work with highly skilled and experienced engineering professionals and graduates who you can learn and develop with - the more questions you ask the more you will gain from your experience. It is important to know that many of our industrial placements have been successful in obtaining graduate roles on completion of their degree.
Requirements / About You
To be eligible for an industrial placement within our Formula E Control Systems group you should be working towards a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Mechatronics, Software or Motorsport Engineering. An understanding of vehicle dynamics would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Working as an integral part of Car Development Team
- Developing control strategies using the MATLAB toolchain for both our on-car and off-car environments, DIL, HIL, to optimise the vehicle control software and realise quantifiable reductions in lap time over a race weekend.
- Developing of new methodologies and test procedures to ensure we achieve and maintain a high level of code test coverage within our Vehicle Control Module, Inverter and Motor Control software.
- Testing of our hardware and control modules across a variety of test facilities.
- Preparation and support of systems on operational vehicles at test and race events
- Overall, you will contribute to make our car faster, more reliable and more efficient.
