Industrial Placement (2026-2027) - Motorsport Electrical Engineer
Fortescue
Job Description
Opportunity
The role sits within the Electrical Engineering team focusing on the development of Battery Management Systems (BMS) and associated electrical systems. The placement will involve following established engineering design processes, developing electrical harnesses, and, where required, creating schematics and harnesses using Capital Harness. You will contribute to the selection and integration of electrical components, systems, and product designs. As your designs are deployed into real-world applications, you will plan, execute, and report on system validation activities, supporting both testing and race operations. You will work alongside experienced engineers on live projects at the factory and trackside, with opportunities to support systems in field applications. While electrification forms the core of our work, we are fundamentally a racing organisation and operate across complete vehicle systems. A strong understanding of race car electrical design and vehicle integration would be highly advantageous. Former industrial placements have been successful in obtaining graduate roles on completion of their degree, not only returning to our team but also working at the highest levels in motorsport.
