Hydraulic Fitter | Bathurst Workshop
WesTrac is growing our Workshop capability in Bathurst and we're looking for an experienced Hydraulic Fitter to join our high‑performing team.
If you enjoy diagnostics, precision rebuild work and delivering high‑quality repairs that keep our customers moving, this role offers stability, variety and the chance to work with world‑class Caterpillar equipment.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, overhaul and test hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, cylinders, motors and associated components
- Carry out strip‑downs, assessments and rebuilds to WesTrac and OEM specifications
- Perform hydraulic fault‑finding using diagnostic tooling, schematics and technical data
- Conduct pressure testing, contamination control and system performance checks
- Complete service reports, parts interpretation and job documentation accurately and on time
- Work collaboratively with technicians, supervisors and product support teams
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with WesTrac standards
- Identify wear, failure modes and preventative maintenance opportunities
- Maintain workshop tooling, test benches and hydraulic equipment in safe working order

Roster: Monday to Friday (5:2) Hours: 10‑hour day shift Location: Bathurst Workshop Travel: No travel required
What You’ll Bring
- Trade qualification as a Hydraulic Fitter, Plant Mechanic, Diesel Fitter or equivalent
- Strong experience in hydraulic diagnostics, repairs and component rebuilds
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical documentation
- High mechanical aptitude and strong problem‑solving capability
- Commitment to safety and adherence to procedures
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced workshop environment
- Competence with computer‑based service systems and reporting tools
Highly Regarded
- Experience with Caterpillar equipment or within a CAT dealer environment
- Exposure to hydraulic test benches, contamination control and component overhaul
- Familiarity with WesTrac systems (SIMSi, DBS, SAP)
- High‑risk licences (forklift, dogging, EWP)
- Experience in mining, construction or heavy industry
