Workshop HV Electrician (FIFO) – Casual Company: Rio Tinto
Location: FIFO from Perth
Roster: 8/6 dayshift, 7/7 nightshift
Contract Duration: Until 27 January 2027 with potential to extend 

About the Role Rio Tinto is seeking an experienced Workshop High Voltage Electrician to join the team on a casual basis through to 27 January 2027, covering a period of parental leave.

Working within a modern workshop environment, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting a fleet of advanced autonomous and heavy mining equipment. This role operates on an 8/6 dayshift and 7/7 nightshift FIFO roster, departing from Perth, WA.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform HV electrical maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across a range of mining equipment
• Maintain and support autonomous haulage systems
• Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting across HV and LV systems
• Ensure all work is completed in line with Rio Tinto safety standards and procedures
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to maximise equipment availability

Equipment Exposure Experience working with the following equipment is highly regarded:

• Komatsu 930E Autonomous Haul Trucks
• Komatsu L2350 & WE2350 Loaders
• Hitachi EX3600 & EX5600 Excavators
• PV271 Drills
• A range of CAT and Komatsu ancillary equipment

About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Minimum 2 years post apprenticeship or 1 year post if your apprenticeship was completed on Mining equipment specified above
• Trade qualification as an Electrician (A Grade license)
• Current HV Switching qualification
• Demonstrated experience in a mining workshop environment
• Strong auto electrical and diagnostic skills
• Experience with autonomous systems (highly regarded)
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and high-quality workmanship
• Flexibility to work FIFO day and night shifts
