This is a great opportunity for a high-performing HSET Superintendent / Safety and Training professional looking to join a business where they can make a difference. Direct report to the HSEQT Manager.
Our client is looking for a natural HSET leader who values safety while getting the job done, communicates naturally, and builds strong relationships without compromising standards.
About you:
Experienced Senior Safety Professiona l with experience in the mining industry and someone willing to grow with the business and align with the business values.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide guidance, advice, and support to members of the HSET Team to assist in their development.
- Ensure that HSET Advisors accountabilities and commitments are understood.
- Review HSET documentation such as principal mining hazard management plans / procedures / risk assessments.
- Maintenance of a HSET systems that meets the organisational requirements and positively received by the site team.
- Providing HSET service and support to all areas of the business.
- Ensure hazards are identified, and the associated risks are assessed and effectively managed.
- Incident review and leading of significant Investigations (ICAM).
- Maintaining alcohol and drug testing procedures and processes and fatigue management programs.
- Initial injury and illness management procedures.
- HSET documents and records management.
- Continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operations.
- Plan, coordinate and ensure all training activities are conducted.
- Ensure that all functional areas maintain the relevant training matrices and documentation.
- Maintain site cost control and seek and advise HSET Manager on cost efficient measures and initiatives.
- Coach and mentor staff providing technical assistance and advice.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a leadership Superintendent role within the Mining Production – Load and Haul operations.
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant Federal and State OHS & Training legislation and requirements.
- Ability to operate effectively at both tactical and operational levels.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal abilities and the capacity to influence and persuade others.
- Capability to exert influence without direct authority.
Key requirements:
- Cert IV or Diploma in OH&S
- ICAM qualified
- Internal auditor
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment
- Current NPC
- First Aid/CPR
