As part of our continued growth and organisational transformation, we are seeking an experienced HSE & Compliance Manager to lead our health, safety, environmental, quality and compliance function nationally. Reporting directly to the Head of People & Culture, this role will play a critical leadership role in shaping our safety culture, strengthening governance and delivering continuous improvement across our operations.

About the Role

As HSE & Compliance Manager, you will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Sirrom's HSE Management System, compliance frameworks, and operational assurance programs. You will work closely with Village Managers, Operational Leaders and the Executive Team to ensure safety, compliance and risk management are embedded into everyday operations.

Key responsibilities include:

Safety Leadership

  • Lead and enhance Sirrom's HSE management framework
  • Foster a proactive and positive safety culture
  • Support leaders in achieving safety and compliance objectives
  • Conduct field leadership and site assurance activities
  • Provide expert advice on health, safety, environmental and regulatory matters

Compliance & Governance

  • Maintain company-wide compliance systems and governance frameworks
  • Manage audit programs, compliance reviews and regulatory obligations
  • Monitor legislative changes and ensure compliance readiness
  • Develop executive-level compliance reporting and performance dashboards

Risk & Incident Management

  • Lead investigations into incidents, injuries and safety events
  • Implement risk-based approaches to operational assurance
  • Facilitate risk assessments and corrective action programs
  • Support emergency response and business continuity planning

Leadership Development

  • Coach and mentor Village Managers and operational leaders
  • Deliver safety leadership and compliance training programs
  • Build organisational capability and accountability
  • Drive engagement initiatives that strengthen safety ownership

Systems & Reporting

  • Manage SafetyCulture and compliance reporting platforms
  • Develop meaningful HSEQ dashboards and analytics
  • Improve visibility of safety, risk and compliance performance
  • Drive continuous improvement through data and operational insights

About You

You are a confident and influential HSE leader who enjoys partnering with operations and helping leaders achieve better outcomes.

You will bring:

Essential

  • Qualification in Workplace Health & Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Management or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior HSE, compliance or risk leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and compliance obligations
  • Experience managing investigations, audits and assurance programs
  • Proven ability to influence and coach operational leaders
  • Experience working across multiple sites and geographically dispersed workforces
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and reporting skills

Highly Regarded

  • Lead Auditor qualification
  • ICAM, LFI or Root Cause Analysis certification
  • HACCP and food safety auditing experience
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Experience in mining, resources, remote camps, accommodation services, hospitality, catering or facilities management

Location

Perth, WA preferred, however candidates located in Brisbane or elsewhere in Australia may be considered. Regular travel to operational sites will be required.
