The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join our Energy Networks team within the Utilities division. Reporting to the Senior HSE Advisor, you will partner with operational leaders, project teams, contractors and clients to drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements across our operations.
This is a hands on role where you will provide expert guidance and support across risk management, incident investigations, auditing, training, injury management and continuous improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in implementing and maintaining health, safety and environmental management systems while championing our commitment to Zero Harm.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting operational teams to maintain compliance with legislative, client and company HSE requirements.
- Coaching leaders and project teams on HSE management plans, risk registers and contractor management requirements.
- Conducting field inspections, audits, observations and critical risk verification activities.
- Coordinating incident investigations, corrective actions and lessons learned activities.
- Monitoring HSE performance data, identifying trends and implementing improvement initiatives.
- Supporting injury management and return to work processes.
- Delivering HSE training, inductions and awareness programs. - Assisting with internal and external audits and supporting certification requirements.
What We're Looking For
To be successful, you will bring:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety as a minimum.
- ICAM Incident Investigation qualification or equivalent.
- Construction Industry White Card.
- Return to Work Coordinator certification.
- Minimum two years' experience in a health and safety role.
- Experience supporting HSE functions across project based environments and high risk operational activities.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, standards and management systems.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship building skills.
- Experience with incident investigations, risk management and injury management processes.
- Intermediate Microsoft 365 skills and the ability to analyse data and identify safety trends.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment or similar.
- Quality or Safety Lead Internal Auditor qualification.
- Drug and Alcohol Testing qualifications.
