Technical Resources is partnering with a leading project delivery team seeking an experienced Health & Safety Superintendent to play a key leadership role on a major iron ore construction project in the Pilbara.

You will provide expert health and safety guidance to project and contractor teams while helping drive proactive safety behaviours across the site. You will be responsible for coaching leaders, supporting risk management activities, facilitating investigations, ensuring legislative compliance and promoting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing expert HSE advice and support to construction and project teams
  • Building strong relationships with contractor management teams to drive positive safety outcomes
  • Supporting incident investigations and corrective action management
  • Leading and coaching critical risk management and safety initiatives
  • Facilitating risk assessments and critical risk workshops
  • Monitoring compliance with project safety systems, procedures and legislative requirements
  • Analysing safety data and trends to identify improvement opportunities
  • Promoting a strong safety culture through visible leadership and engagement in the field
  • Supporting ongoing development and enhancement of site safety systems and processes

About You / Requirements

  • Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Workplace Health & Safety or similar
  • White Card
  • Advanced First Aid
  • Minimum 8 years' experience within mining, construction or major project environments
  • Strong contractor management experience
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • Experience working in high-pressure operational environments

Highly Regarded:

  • Previous experience on major iron ore projects
  • Exposure to Mine Safety Management Systems (MSMS)
  • Experience with Critical Risk Management, Permit to Work, Isolation & Tagging and Commissioning activities
  • Lead Auditor qualification
  • ICAM Lead Investigator qualification
  • Leadership or management qualifications
