About the Company

MacKellar is growing its partnership with Aeris Resources on a developing mining project near Nyngan, NSW, and we’re looking for experienced Haul Truck Operators to join our production team.

This is a great opportunity to secure long-term work on a growing mining project, operating a modern fleet alongside an experienced team with a strong focus on safety, production and teamwork.

About the Role

As a Haul Truck Operator, you’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy haulage equipment to support daily production requirements.
Working as part of a close-knit production team, you’ll play an important role in maintaining safe operations, achieving production targets and ensuring equipment is operated and cared for to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating CAT 777 haul trucks in a production mining environment
  • Completing pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks
  • Reporting equipment faults, defects and operational issues
  • Operating safely in accordance with site procedures and operating standards
  • Working to daily production targets while maintaining a strong focus on equipment care
  • Communicating effectively with Supervisors, Dispatch and fellow operators
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and operator care of equipment
  • Contributing to a positive, safety-focused team environment

What You’ll Bring

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated experience operating haul trucks in a mining environment
  • Experience operating CAT 777 haul trucks or similar-sized equipment is required
  • Relevant RII competencies and/or verifiable operating history
  • Strong understanding of safe operating practices and risk management
  • Reliable work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to travel to site and work a 7/7 roster
  • Ability to meet all site access and pre-employment requirements
