Graduate Geologist 1st Year

The Opportunity:

As part of the Gold Fields Graduate Program, you will complete rotations across multiple sites and teams over a two-year period. Throughout the program, you’ll work alongside members of our highly experienced technical team, gaining hands-on exposure to the gold mining environment. You’ll develop and demonstrate a set of core competencies, ensuring well-rounded capability across all key areas. This program offers genuine, real-world mining experience and the opportunity to see how your foundational university studies translate into practice.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Current manual driver’s licence.
• Completed your Tertiary Qualification in Geology or similar by end 2026.
• Vacation experience in a mining environment is ideal, but not essential.

• Broad exposure to geological activities across Gold Fields’ Australian operations, supporting both operational and technical teams in an active mining environment.
• Contribute to a range of geology‑related tasks that support safe, efficient, and responsible mining outcomes while developing practical skills and professional capability.
• Build a strong foundation across exploration and mine geology functions through hands‑on experience, structured learning, and collaboration with experienced site and corporate teams.
