Job Description

The Opportunity

As a GIS Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining core GIS standards and processes as well as analyzing, interpreting, and outputting spatial data to support environment, heritage, design, and construction. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that spatial data is utilized effectively to optimize project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, interpret, and output spatial data and derived products to support the project.
  • Produce high standard cartographic outputs.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to optimize data flows, design, and delivery.
  • Maintain core GIS standards and processes including metadata, single-point-of-truth, and data flow controls.
  • Develop and maintain GIS databases and systems.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate and current online presence.
  • Provide training and support to users of the GIS as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of GIS software and databases. (ESRI.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm and a desire to learn.
  • Willingness to visit sites for setup and training
  • Environmental data experience desirable.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise desirable.
  • Basic Python skills desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.

Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
