Geology Technician

Geology Technician who knows their way around diamond core and enjoys being part of an active drilling program, this opportunity with a well-established gold producer could be your next move.

Working as part of a busy site-based geology team on an 8:6 FIFO roster ex Perth (Monday to Monday), you'll support both diamond drilling and RC programs through core yard activities, sample management and general drill support. A current backlog means core processing experience will be highly valued, while field duties will also include collecting chip and sample bags, dispatching samples and assisting geologists with day-to-day drilling activities.

This role would suit someone who enjoys a mix of core yard and field-based work and can hit the ground running with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

• Core processing and core yard activities
• RC chip sampling and sample management
• Collecting, organising and dispatching sample bags
• Photographing core and maintaining accurate geological records
• Entering data into site databases and systems
• Supporting geologists with day-to-day drilling activities
• Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
• Working closely with drilling and geology teams to support active drilling programs.

To be successful, you'll have:

• Previous experience in core processing, geology assistant or field technician roles
• Exposure to RC sampling or drilling programs
• Experience handling drill samples and maintaining data quality standards
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Experience using geological databases such as LogChief (highly regarded)
• A valid Manual C-class driver's licence
• An LF Forklift licence (desirable)
• The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen.

Previous gold experience is not essential. Candidates with experience across commodities such as copper, lithium, rare earths or other hard-rock mining environments are encouraged to apply.
