Our client is looking for an experienced Field Hydrogeologist to join a major mining operation in the Pilbara supporting critical groundwater and water infrastructure programs across multiple sites.

Roster: 8/6 FIFO from Perth

Start date: ASAP

Duration: approx. 6 months - depending on client requirements

Pay Rate: $700.00 - $750 p/d + Super depending on experience

The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale hydrogeological projects involving production bores, monitoring bores and injection bores within a well-established and technically strong team.

Reporting to the Project Hydrogeologist, you will be responsible for overseeing drilling activities and supporting the delivery of hydrogeological programs across site operations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supervising water well drilling and bore construction activities.
• Managing contractors during the installation of production, monitoring and injection bores.
• Assisting with the preparation of drilling, earthworks and pump testing scopes of work.
• Conducting ground truthing activities and site inspections.
• Liaising with operational teams, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Supporting land access and approval processes including Land Use Clearances (LUCs).
• Utilising GIS and mapping software to support project delivery and reporting.

Required Experience:

• Degree qualifications in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geoscience or related discipline.
• Previous experience in a field hydrogeology role within mining or resources.
• Demonstrated experience supervising drilling contractors and groundwater programs.
• Experience with production, monitoring and injection bore construction.
• Knowledge of pump testing and groundwater investigations.
• Exposure to GIS and mapping software such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Current Australian driver's licence and the ability to work FIFO rosters.
