The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director – Technical Services, this role will work closely with Site Operations, Technical Services, Growth & Business Development, and corporate technical teams to deliver strong exploration outcomes, resource confidence, and fit-for-purpose geological systems that support business decisions.

The role is responsible for building and leading a high-performing Exploration & Geology function that brings together Greenfields and Brownfields discovery, near-mine exploration, resource development, and best-practice geology systems. It will drive strategy, technical governance, safe execution, and value creation across current operations and future growth opportunities.

Key responsibilities;

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Exploration & Geology team across Lithium and Iron Ore.
• Develop and execute integrated exploration and geology strategies using modern technologies and best-practice methods.
• Lead greenfields, brownfields, and near-mine exploration programs from target generation through to drill-ready opportunities and resource definition.
• Plan and oversee drilling, mapping, geochemistry, geophysics, sampling, logging, and field execution programs.
• Work closely with Strategic Planning and Resource Development to prioritise exploration and resource programs based on value, timing, and capital requirements.
• Oversee exploration and geology-related contracts, contractor performance, field logistics, cost control, and delivery governance.
• Ensure strong integration between exploration, resource geology, mine geology, and technical studies to support resource confidence and operational delivery.
• Support business development through technical evaluation of acquisitions, joint ventures, divestments, and due diligence activities.
• Own resource geology governance, including database integrity, geological modelling, QAQC, resource estimation, reconciliation, reporting, and geology systems.
• Lead governance across safety, heritage, environment, budgets, and data integrity to ensure compliant, safe, and effective program delivery.

What is required?

• Extensive senior leadership experience in hard rock exploration and geology, with success advancing programs through to resource definition and value creation.
• Strong technical capability across exploration methods, resource geology, modelling, and estimation governance.
• Experience in business development, due diligence, and technical assessment of acquisition and JV opportunities.
• Proven ability to present complex technical and strategic information to executive, Investment Committee, and Board-level audiences.
• Demonstrated success building high-performing teams, setting standards, and driving accountability and results.
• Strong commercial capability across contractor management, cost control, scheduling, and delivery.
• Collaborative and influential working style, with strong industry awareness and networks to support opportunity identification.
