Fuel Operator - Defence
UGL
Job Description
About the Company
As the major Defence Fuel Network Managing Contractor, UGL has firmly established itself as Australia’s leading Defence services provider. With extensive expertise in reviewing, maintaining, and remediating critical assets and infrastructure, we deliver on our nation’s sovereign capability through world-class, integrated asset management, operations and maintenance - supporting and strengthening the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) national security across the country.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of Defence fuel facilities in the Albury-Wodonga region, making sure fuel is received, stored, tested and transferred safely and efficiently. Typical duties can look like: accepting fuel deliveries and carrying out quality testing, troubleshooting an operational issue or coordinating fuel movements across site.
You'll be the go-to person locally, with a lot of ownership and trust to manage the operation safely and keep things running smoothly. While you'll mostly work independently, you'll still be supported by a wider team across Victoria, including operators and supervisors in nearby regions.
The role is also evolving, with aviation fuel capability being introduced to the area, making it a great opportunity to get involved with a growing operation and develop your skills further.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
- Plenty of autonomy and ownership.
- Varied work covering fuel operations, testing, deliveries and site coordination.
- Long-term Defence contract providing genuine job security.
- Opportunity to build your knowledge of fuel, aviation and Defence operations.
- Small team environment where you'll be trusted to make decisions and run your area.
- Future opportunities to take on a broader Regional Victoria footprint.
Requires
- Strong focus on safety and operational compliance.
- Ability to build relationships with teams, contractors and customers.
- Good problem-solving skills and a practical approach to getting things done.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain Defence clearance.
