Role overview
Join our Finance Business Partnering team as Finance Business Analyst Analyst, where you'll play a role in shaping the future of finance at Fortescue. This role goes beyond traditional reporting you’ll drive innovation by leveraging data, automation and AI-powered analytics to enable the company to understand how the business understands performance, makes decisions & plans strategically.
Reporting to the Manager Accelerated Business Drivers & Finance Analytics, you’ll work at the intersection of finance, technology and strategy building smarter reporting tools, uncovering insights from complex datasets and championing continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of reports & dashboards using Power BI and Excel to support financial and operational reporting
- Assist with automation and improvements in Snowflake, Power BI and Excel to streamline reporting processes and improve data accuracy
- Support analysis of financial and operational data to identify trends and insights
- Partner with finance and operational departments to understand drivers, data and reporting needs and help deliverable scalable solutions
- Maintain required databases and reporting hierarchies
- Contribute to regular management reporting and presentation materials
- Assist in initiatives to improve forecasting, planning and analytics capabilities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ in data analytics, commercial or corporate finance function
- Previous experience in Business Intelligence, Finance Analytics or Data Analytics
- Experience with Power BI development
- PL-300 Certification complete or underway (desired)
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation (preferred)
- Experience with SAP and Anaplan (preferred)
- Strong communication, strong leadership and business partnering abilities
- Advanced skills in Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI)
- Attention to detail and a passion for data accuracy
- Self-starter with a pragmatic , solutions-oriented mindset
