Job Description

What Does a Day in the Life of a Chef at Cater Care Look Like?

• Food Preparation & Presentation: You will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of meals, including breakfast, crib, dinner, dessert, and functions.
• Dietary Requirements: Ensuring adherence to special dietary needs, such as allergies and specific requests, is key to delivering a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
• Food Safety Compliance: You’ll play a critical role in adhering to our Food Safety Program, ensuring safe and high-quality meals are served every time.
• Stock Management: Assist with stock ordering, rotation, and stocktaking to ensure the kitchen is well stocked and organized.
• Kitchen Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean kitchen, equipment, and utensils while adhering to food hygiene and safety practices.
• Customer-Focused Service: Provide fast, effective service with a smile, ensuring a positive dining experience for all.
• Team Collaboration: Assist the broader team as required, always working together to ensure kitchen operations run smoothly.
• Safety Culture: Demonstrate a strong safety culture that aligns with the Cater Care Safety Commitments, ensuring a safe and secure working environment for everyone.

About You:

• Qualifications & Experience: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (high-volume bulk cookery experience is highly regarded but not essential).
• You’re passionate about creating high-quality, delicious meals.
• Team Player: Ability to work well independently, as well as with other team members.
• Customer Service: A commitment to genuine, friendly customer service and a motivated, enthusiastic, and positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Fast-Paced: Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, sometimes for long periods.
• Professionalism: Pride in personal appearance & hygiene.
• Safety Focused: A first-rate safety-focused attitude, ensuring you adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
• Clearance: National Police Clearance (within 6 months). You will also be required to obtain a police clearance and undertake a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the hiring process.
