Role and Overview

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Auto Electrician looking for ongoing work in the mining industry, working across a range of heavy mobile equipment and site infrastructure.

The Role

As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for electrical maintenance, fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs across a range of mobile mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and breakdown electrical maintenance on heavy mobile equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Complete electrical inspections, testing and troubleshooting.
• Install, repair and maintain electrical components, wiring and systems.
• Work on mining trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, graders and ancillary equipment.
• Maintain and repair site support equipment, including lighting towers and generators.
• Complete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Carry out pre-start inspections and report defects.
• Complete maintenance records and job cards accurately.
• Work safely in accordance with site procedures and mining regulations.
• Work closely with mechanical trades and the wider maintenance team.

About You / Requirements

• Australian recognised Auto Electrical Trade Qualification.
• Previous experience in mining or heavy mobile equipment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working on heavy mobile plant and mining equipment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to safety and site procedures.
• Current Australian working rights.
• Ability to pass a mining medical and drug & alcohol screening.
