As our Fuels & Energy East business continues to grow, we are inviting Expressions of Interest from Mechanical Leading Handsinterested in expanding their experience across the bulk storage, fuels, refining and terminal infrastructure sectors. This is an opportunity to become part of a highly experienced team delivering solutions for some of Australia's most critical assets.
You will gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of fuel terminals, storage facilities, refining infrastructure, brownfield modifications, asset integrity programs, capital projects and operational support activities. You'll work alongside industry experts and develop valuable experience across the full asset lifecycle, from concept and design through to procurement, construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate mechanical maintenance and construction crews across fuel terminals, bulk storage facilities and associated infrastructure assets.
- Perform hands-on mechanical work while providing day-to-day supervision, technical guidance and mentoring to tradespeople and contractors on site.
- Allocate resources, monitor work progress and ensure mechanical activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project and maintenance schedules.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of critical assets including tanks, pumps, valves, piping systems, loading equipment and associated mechanical infrastructure.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements, including permit-to-work systems, isolation procedures and risk controls.
- Work closely with Supervisors, Planners, Operations and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues, minimise downtime and support shutdowns, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter, Boilermaker, Pipefitter or equivalent, with demonstrated experience working in maintenance, construction or shutdown environments.
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand or in a senior trades-based role within fuel terminals, bulk storage facilities, oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, utilities or other heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, pipelines, storage tanks, loading systems, rotating equipment and associated infrastructure assets.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate work crews, prioritise daily activities and ensure works are delivered safely, on schedule and to a high standard of quality.
- Sound understanding of permit-to-work systems, isolation procedures, risk management and safety requirements within live operational or brownfield environments.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor trades personnel, build effective working relationships and contribute to a positive, safety-focused team culture.
