About The Role

Our Vacation Programoffers you the opportunity to gain real life experience on an operational open cut coal mine, as part of our structured, 12-week paid program. You will gain valuable experience working on site and for some roles, experience living in remote and regional locations. Build your networks and relationships early in your career by working with experienced industry leaders.

The Thiess Vacation Program has opportunities in the following disciplines for 2nd and 3rd year students:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Mechatronics Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Surveying
• Environment
• Finance
• Health & Safety
• Legal
• Human Resources
• Information & Communications Technology (ICT)
• Data Science

About You

• Completing 2nd or 3rd year at university
• Studying a degree within one of the above disciplines
• Willing to work and relocate to site for the duration of the program
• Available to work for the entire 12-week period
• Ready to start your career in the mining industry
• A holder of Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical examination
