Excavator Operator

In this role, you will:

• Operating machinery efficiently and safely as a highly skilled production operator
• Complying with Thiess’ policies and procedures
• Responding to instructions from Mining Supervisor
• Excavating to design boundaries of ore bodies, berms and pit walls
• Ensuring floor levels are maintained
• Minimising dilution and achieving design parameters within acceptable tolerances
• Setting and maintain high housekeeping standards
• Carrying out pre-start checks

About you

• Minimum of 5 years mining experience as mining production excavator operator
• Equivalent to or specific experience operating Hitachi EX3600 is essential
• Experience in loading dump trucks in a mining production environment essential
• Sound knowledge and understanding of ore mark ups and pit configuration
• Skills to mine out benches and cutting batters, leaving minimal amount of material for final trim to design of batter angle
• HR drivers licence (desirable)
• Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times
