The Opportunity

Reporting to the Projects team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for a range of sustaining works across mining infrastructure and processing facilities. You will play a key role in supporting project planning, budgeting, and execution by providing reliable and commercially sound estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Class 5 to Class 1 cost estimates for mining sustaining projects
• Develop quantity take-offs from engineering drawings and project documentation
• Prepare labour, equipment, material, and subcontractor cost estimates
• Review project scopes and identify commercial and technical risks
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to validate estimate assumptions
• Prepare estimate reports, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation
• Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and benchmarking data
• Support project budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning activities

About You

• 5+ experience as an Estimator within the mining, resources, or heavy industrial sector
• Experience estimating sustaining, brownfield, or maintenance projects
• Strong understanding of mining construction and/or processing plant environments
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
• Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or Trade qualification highly regarded
• Experience working for a mining contractor or engineering consultancy is highly regarded
