The Estimator role is part of the Commercial & Tendering Team and will be responsible for preparing and supporting the timely submission of tender documents, ensuring a thorough understanding of the requirements of the Client and tender specifications.

Responsibilities

• support the Senior Estimator as required
• prepare cost estimates and technical proposals for tender submissions
• review tender documents to assess scope
• assess risks involved and tender complexity, and provide feedback to the Senior Estimator and Commercial & Tendering Manager
• ensure timely and accurate submission of tender documents
• make tender amendments where applicable utilising client feedback on submitted tender
• maintain an understanding of the performance of current projects to ensure continuous improvement for all future tendering opportunities
• ensure the tendering database is maintained
• maintain a good understanding of current project operations

Qualifications

• tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining)
• minimum 5 years in the mining industry in an engineering or site-based role
• be open-minded and willing to learn new things and work with different processes and procedures
• previous extensive experience in the co-ordination, planning, administration and management of the tender submission process to successful outcomes
• possess an advanced understanding of the development of estimation methodologies, identification of major cost components, performing bid evaluations, cost factor analysis and risk analysis
• demonstrated high level negotiation and analytical skills
• exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
• sound working knowledge of Project Management principles
