Position: Environment Advisor

Work Location: Opportunities are FIFO from Perth, Busselton, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing, or Kununurra to our Pilbara WA mine sites.

Rosters Available: Our rosters range from 8D6R, 7N7N14R, or 7D7N7R depending on site and department.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee field-based environmental monitoring activities, including surface water, groundwater, dust, and soil sampling.
• Oversee analysis of monitoring data against trigger levels and long-term trends for reporting.
• Undertake internal compliance verifications to ensure environmental approval requirements are implemented.
• Audit and manage environmental risk using Fortescue’s risk management systems.
• Lead incident investigations and the identification and implementation of corrective actions.
• Prepare annual statutory environmental compliance reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience in a relevant industry role.
• Proven knowledge of WA and Federal environmental legislation and guidelines.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with multiple levels of leadership across the organization.
• Proficient with MS Office and general IT systems.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
