Based out of Brisbane’s CBD, you’re first assignment will be to support a major greenfield rail project in South East Queensland. This next stage of work involves delivering new dual-track rail, tunnels, stations and stabling infrastructure, a largescale expansion that will help shape the region’s long-term transport network.

About the role

As Principal Engineer – Electrical (HV), you’ll lead the delivery of high voltage electrical design across the project, ensuring systems are safe, compliant and fit for purpose. You’ll work closely with design, engineering and delivery teams to plan and coordinate HV infrastructure, supporting both early-stage design and ongoing delivery.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll provide technical direction, support design development and ensure quality outcomes across complex rail systems, helping set the foundations for successful project delivery from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Lead HV electrical design across the project, from concept through to delivery.
• Develop and review design documentation, calculations and specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated design outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with standards, safety requirements and project specifications.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineers.

About you

• Experience in a Principal or Senior Electrical Engineering role (HV).
• Strong background in HV design within rail, infrastructure or utilities projects.
• Experience working across design and delivery phases on major rail projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical standards, safety and compliance frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
