About the Role
Moranbah North Mine has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Superintendent to join the team, based in Moranbah. As the Environmental Superintendent you lead a team of environmental professionals to ensure timely delivery of the Annual Environmental Plan. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be accountable for the development and implementation of the Environmental Programs & Projects to maintain compliance with all environmental permits, legislation, and regulatory requirements. This role will provide you with the opportunity to advance your mining career in a large dynamic underground mining environment and to gain experience across many different disciplines as an environmental professional. The Environmental Superintendent role will see you responsible for:

Leading innovation, development, and support of the site environmental programs.

Develop the site’s Annual Environmental Plan in line with the Sustainable Mine Plan to enable stable, optimized, safe and sustainable mining operations

Develop yearly objectives and targets to meet compliance with the Environmental Authority (EA) and EPBC in alignment with the 5-year rehabilitation plans

Co-ordinating and managing all environmental and cultural heritage matters

Lead and mentor a team of environmental professionals

Manage and collaborate with stakeholders, lead initiates, and roll out environmental awareness campaigns within budgetary constraints

Ensuring compliance with environmental license and statutory requirements

Take a lead role in the development of the Environmental Management System (EMS)

Assistance with preparation and management of the environmental budget

Lead environmental incident investigations and implement corrective actions

Maintain a strong and collaborative relationship with the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI)

The following experience and qualifications are sought: Senior Environmental experience within the Resources or Mining (preferably Coal) sectors; Tertiary qualification in an Environmental discipline; Sound knowledge of State and Federal environmental legislation; You will be a demonstrated and proven leader within the Environmental field, with knowledge of Environmental Management System ISO 14001 standard.
