Northern Star Resources currently has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Environmental Superintendent to join the team at our Pilbara (Hemi) Operations, working on an ongoing 8/6 roster, on a permanent and full-time basis. The successful candidate will provide leadership for the site environmental team, ensuring all environmental legal obligations are met, environmental risks are managed, and drive environmental performance across the project. The role will help implement the project’s environmental approval obligations and manage key construction contractors to deliver works and support sound environmental management.

- Lead and champion strong Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance, ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulations.
- Identify, manage and mitigate environmental risks to support project delivery and reduce environmental impacts.
- Drive effective construction environmental management to meet legal obligations, compliance, contractual requirements and stakeholder expectations.
- Coordinate and deliver all regulatory, closure, offset and environmental approval requirements for both current projects and legacy areas.
- Provide specialist environmental input across design, engineering and project management to ensure compliance with standards and legislation.
- Lead site environmental functions including monitoring, reporting, auditing, incident investigation and assurance activities.
- Develop, mentor and manage team members to achieve performance targets, regulatory compliance and operational excellence during construction and operation
To thrive in this role, you will need.
Experience: 10+ years’ environmental experience across construction and mining operations with proven capability managing major contractors to meet regulatory and company standards, experience in the Pilbara being highly regarded
Qualifications: Degree majoring in an Environment related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution
