UGL Regional Linx (UGLRL) is a subsidiary of UGL, headquartered in Orange, NSW, with regional depots throughout the state. We focus on creating job opportunities in regional and rural communities, with over 85% of our workforce based in regional NSW. We manage the CRN – Country Regional Network, ensuring safe transportation of people and goods across NSW.
Job Purpose This role is for the management of UGL Regional Linx’s approach to Environment & Sustainability as the recognised subject matter expert. The role will also involve working with the Operational leaders and HSEQ teams on the development of key initiatives in the area of sustainability, as well as liaising with shareholder representatives on common issues and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the respective legislated ESG reporting requirements including directors declarations and submission review requirements
- Drive a culture of contemporary thinking and best practice across UGL Regional Linx to address the needs of our customers and communities regarding Sustainability
- Increase UGL Regional Linx’s understanding of sustainability through education programs that are aligned with UGL Regional Linx’s Sustainability Strategy
- Promote the understanding of risks and opportunities related to sustainability across UGL Regional Linx, ensuring well balanced long-term decision making is consistently applied
- Ensure Business Units adopt UGL Regional Linx’s systems, strategies, policies, objectives and targets from concept planning through to design, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance to meet customer requirements and help increase profit and market share
- Support the tender review process and provide technical input to EOI, RFPs and tenders, demonstrating a strong understanding of sustainability goals, rating schemes and other related stakeholder requirements.
- Maintain systems and practices for the continuing certification to the ISO14001 Standards
- Ensure the necessary support (including resources of suitable levels of competence) is available for the effective implementation of UGL Regional Linx’s sustainability requirements across all projects and sites
- Represent and advocate sustainable outcomes within the industry on behalf of UGL Regional Linx
- Ensure UGL Regional Linx projects and sites are prepared for and can adequately respond to sustainability events and emergencies
- Monitor, measure and evaluate UGL Regional Linx sites’ and projects’ sustainability performance in order to support the continuous improvement of UGL Regional Linx’s systems and practice
- Mentor and support the development of environmental and sustainability professionals and direct reports
