Company Description:Anglo American Australia In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in manganese, as well as copper exploration projects under way in North West Queensland. Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.   Job Description:As a key member of our Site Leadership Team, the Engineering and Maintenance Manager  will be accountable for the delivery of the annual maintenance and engineering targets, oversee statutory obligations with zero harm to employees and contractors, including technical advice to the General Manager and Site Leadership Team on means to optimise equipment availability, performance and reliability.  This role will require you to provide effective leadership of the engineering and maintenance team to develop and implement plans, monitor performance, and complete work activities in accordance with corporate policy and procedures.  Key responsibilities include:Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all site interactions and take full ownership for safety on siteLead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners, reliability specialists, supervisors and tradespeople, managing significant operating and capital expenditure budgetsLead the development and implementation of the  five (5) year maintenance and engineering planCreate and implement rolling three (3) to twelve (12) month plans that optimise availability and reliability of mining equipmentManage and execute a significant capital investment program which includes equipment overhaul, life of mine infrastructure and new equipment procurementDevelop and drive a continuous improvement mindset within the operation based on the principals of the reliability engineering and defect eliminationOversee the statutory compliance of electrical and mechanical engineering functions at the mineMonitor performance against plan and lead the maintenance and engineering team to identify risks to delivering the planVisibly lead by example and set clear, consistent expectations, including consistent use of systems, symbols and behaviours aligned to Anglo American values Qualifications:Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline)Managed engineering and/or maintenance function in a similar heavy industry business7 years’ experience in asset management, ideally within an underground coal mining environmentDevelopment of systems, strategies and training, including management of safety and health management systemsProven track record of problem solving with measurable resultsDemonstrated experience contributing to a team of professionals to deliver against set targetsStrong interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence and achieve buy in from key stakeholders Additional information:Full-time permanent position based at Grosvenor Mine, MoranbahMonday to Friday staff roster with potential flexible work optionsCompetitive salary package and annual incentive programsResidential, FIFO (company funded) & DIDO optionsSubsidised accommodation and company funded camp options providedDiscounted gym membershipAnglo American company benefitsWhat we Offer When you join Anglo American, you can expect to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package.
