About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Engineer Process to join our inclusive and diverse Maintenance Planning & Engineering (MP&E) Team.
This unique role will allow you to provide technical support for operations and maintenance teams, assisting in improving plant availability and performance in order to maximise plant throughput whilst minimising the associated costs. Optimisation and improvement of the process plant will be a key focus of this role.
Reporting to the MP&E Engineering Superintendent, you will be responsible for the following duties:

About the role

Reporting to the MP&E Engineering Superintendent, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures
- Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
- Perform plant troubleshooting, optimisation and continuous improvement
- Ensure plant capacity is fully optimised, and production targets are met
- Investigate deviations from the plan, including identifying and recommending solutions
- Provide technical support and advice to fixed plant Operations and Maintenance crews and frontline leaders
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- A degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills with sound analytical, problem solving and critiquing skills
- Demonstrate understanding of Processing unit operations performance and levers to optimise
- Experience leading improvement projects and defect elimination process
- Manual Drivers Licence
