Engineer - Mining

About the role

As a Mine Engineer you will turn near-term plans into safe, reliable production at Ernest Henry. You will own the weekly plan and rolling 3-month plan, keep designs practical through regular underground checks, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with operators and leaders to remove roadblocks fast.

Key responsibilities include

• Leading with safety: applying our health, safety and security standards in every task and decision.
• Validating the plan in the field: completing regular underground inspections to confirm status, progress and quality.
• Building and presenting plans: coordinating inputs and communicating the weekly and 3-month plans.
• Designing for delivery: prepare drill and charge designs to meet targets, including service holes, vent rises and ore-passes.
• Managing cave performance: directing drill/charge/fire locations to maintain broken stock.
• Improving what matters: run short-term projects and investigations to lift performance.
• Keeping everyone aligned: updating progress and reporting so decisions stay data-driven.

About you

You are a practical mine engineer who enjoys turning plans into safe, executable work underground. You bring solid engineering fundamentals, are comfortable working in modern mine design tools (ideally Deswik), and collaborate well with crews and leaders to keep work aligned and progressing.

• Have a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or a related discipline).
• Bring experience in underground mine engineering and operational environments.
• Communicate confidently across verbal, written and graphical formats.
• Build strong working relationships with crews, peers and leaders.
• Take a self-directed approach and focus on delivering practical outcomes.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety and security standards.
