What You Will Be Doing
As an MPU Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating Mobile Processing Units (MPUs) to manufacture and deliver bulk explosives across mine sites. Working closely with Shotfirers, Supervisors, and site personnel, you will ensure blasting activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all legislative and site requirements.
Your duties will include:
- Safely operating and maintaining Mobile Processing Units (MPUs)
- Manufacturing and delivering bulk explosives to blast locations
- Loading blast holes and assisting with charging activities
- Conducting daily pre-start inspections and basic equipment maintenance
- Completing operational and safety documentation
- Ensuring compliance with all site safety procedures and regulatory requirements
- Coordinating daily activities with Shotfirers, Supervisors, and mine site personnel
- Assisting with magazine management and explosives handling activities
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and equipment presentation
- Participating in toolbox meetings and contributing to a strong safety culture
Roster
- Bald Hill (Kalgoorlie Region)
- 8:6 roster
- Day shift only
- 12-hour shifts (6:00am 6:00pm)
- Rotating 8:6 days / 7:7 nights roster
- Day and night shift
- 12-hour shifts
- Two paid 30-minute lunch breaks per shift
What You Will Need
- Current DGSC Licence / Security Card (essential)
- Current HR Driver's Licence (essential)
- Previous experience operating Mobile Processing Units (MPUs)
- Mostly clean National Police Clearance
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work safely in a FIFO mining environment
