Emergency Response and Security Officer
Evolution Mining
Job Description
Who we are
We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.
Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.
When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.
What’s the opportunity?
Step into a role where preparedness, leadership and safety come together.
When an emergency occurs, people rely on capable leaders who are ready to act. As our Emergency Response and Security Officer, you'll lead emergency preparedness and security programs across Cowal Gold Operation, helping ensure our people, assets and operations remain protected while maintaining a strong culture of safety and compliance.
This is an opportunity to influence site wide emergency response capability, mentor a skilled emergency response team, and shape the systems, training and governance that keep one of Australia's leading gold mining operations prepared for any situation. Reporting to the Manager – Sustainability, you'll work closely with site leadership and key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in emergency response and security performance.
Reporting to the Senior Advisor - Emergency, Site Access and Health, you'll:
- Lead and strengthen the site's emergency response and security capability.
- Develop a highly trained and prepared Emergency Response Team through coaching, mentoring and practical development.
- Drive emergency preparedness through drills, exercises and training programs that build confidence and readiness.
- Maintain and enhance emergency response, security and safety management systems to support compliance and operational excellence.
- Partner with leaders and key stakeholders to deliver effective emergency planning and risk management outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with Evolution's security standards and relevant legislative requirements.
Why Cowal Gold Operations?
At Cowal, our never-say-never attitude has led to mine life extension to 2042 as we have boldly reimagined our future. We took our operations there underground in just seven years. Today, you can work on the surface or underground. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers. Live nearby and enjoy the regional lifestyle and close-knit communities. The future here is bright; you could be part of it.
