IntroductionOur client is seeking an experienced Fixed Plant Electrician for a 6 month assignment supporting Port Maintenance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, fault finding, repairs, inspections, and breakdown support across a range of fixed plant assets. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, a commitment to safety, and previous experience working in the mining industry About this roleKey Responsibilities As a member of the Port Maintenance team, your duties will include but are not limited to:
Perform preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant electrical equipment. Conduct routine inspections, testing, fault finding, and repairs to ensure plant reliability and availability. Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems associated with conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, ship loaders, train unloaders, crushers, screens, and associated materials handling infrastructure. Diagnose faults and perform repairs on motors, VSDs, MCCs, switchgear, instrumentation, and control systems. Assist with fixed plant breakdown response, investigations, and root cause analysis. Complete statutory inspections, testing, and compliance activities in accordance with site requirements. Raise maintenance notifications and work orders through the site's maintenance management system. Support shutdown and maintenance campaigns as required. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance practices. Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance personnel to minimise downtime and maximise plant performance. Australian Recognised Electrical Trade Qualification. Current WA Electrical Workers Licence (A Grade). Current C Class Driver's Licence. Demonstrated experience working as a Fixed Plant Electrician within a mining, processing, port, or heavy industrial environment. Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across fixed plant equipment. Experience maintaining motors, conveyors, MCCs, switchgear, VSDs, instrumentation, and control systems. Exposure to breakdown maintenance and reactive maintenance environments. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Sound understanding of AS3000, electrical safety regulations, and safe work practices.
Highly Regarded
Previous experience within Port Operations or Ore Processing Facilities (OPF). Experience working on materials handling systems including conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, train unloaders, and ship loading infrastructure.
