We are seeking a Commissioning Superintendent to join a major energy and infrastructure project.
Roster: 2/1 FIFO from Perth
Start: ASAP start
Length: 12 months with potential to extend
Hourly rate: $105.00 - $145.00 p/h + Super depending on experience
The Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Superintendent to join a major energy and infrastructure project. This is a senior leadership role responsible for leading electrical commissioning activities and ensuring systems are safely energised, tested, and transitioned into operations.
This role will initially be Perth-based for testing and preparation, before transitioning to a 2:1 FIFO roster.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale project involving complex electrical infrastructure, power distribution systems, and control networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all electrical commissioning activities across site.
- Plan and execute pre-commissioning, FAT, SAT, and commissioning workflows.
- Oversee testing and commissioning of HV and LV electrical systems.
- Manage commissioning of SCADA, PLC and control systems integration.
- Develop and review commissioning test procedures and switching plans.
- Ensure systems achieve Ready for Commissioning (RFC) and Ready for Start-Up (RFSU) milestones.
- Lead safe energisation of high voltage systems in accordance with electrical safety standards.
- Review and approve commissioning documentation including ITRs, CVCs, and Notice of Energisation requirements.
- Coordinate closely with construction teams, vendors, and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Manage commissioning risks including SIMOPS, HAZOP outcomes, isolations and permit requirements.
- Lead punch list walkdowns and ensure close-out of outstanding works.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to commissioning engineers and electricians.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Electrical Trade Qualification or Electrical Engineering Degree
- Current WA Electrical Licence
- High Voltage Switching certification
- White Card
- C Class Driver's Licence
- Section 26 completed (highly desirable)
You will also demonstrate:
- Strong experience commissioning HV substations or power distribution systems
- Experience working with SCADA, PLC, and electrical protection systems
- Solid understanding of commissioning systemisation and CMS processes
- Experience reviewing ITRs, CVCs, commissioning documentation and switching procedures
- Strong safety leadership with experience managing energisation activities
- Experience working on large infrastructure, mining, or energy projects
