About the Role

Chandler Macleod is currently seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to support maintenance activities within a large-scale Rio Tinto industrial operation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established maintenance team supporting the safe and reliable operation of critical fixed plant and processing equipment. Working across both electrical and instrumentation systems, you'll be involved in preventative maintenance, fault finding, calibration, testing and operational support.

What you'll do

  • Perform electrical and instrumentation maintenance across fixed plant and processing equipment.
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation and automated systems.
  • Work with PLCs, including Allen-Bradley, VSDs and associated control equipment.
  • Complete instrument calibration, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Support preventative and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to defect elimination and asset reliability improvements.
  • Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to support safe and reliable plant performance.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site standards and procedures.

About You

  • Electrical Trade Qualification.
  • Electrical & Instrumentation experience.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance capability.
  • Experience with instrumentation, calibration and testing.
  • Exposure to PLCs, VSDs and automated equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience within heavy industrial environments such as mining, smelters, refineries, manufacturing or processing plants.
  • Strong commitment to safety and working within structured site procedures.

Highly Regarded

  • Allen-Bradley PLC experience.
  • Previous experience within Rio Tinto or similar large-scale industrial operations.
  • Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets.
  • Forklift (FL) and EWP tickets.
