About the Role

NRW has recently been awarded a new project involving the reconstruction and realignment of sections of Toodyay Road, including the construction of a bridge over Jimperding Brook. We are seeking an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to support our civil project delivery teams with relevant Main Roads experience. This role will work closely with site leadership to coordinate day-to-day earthworks operations, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while driving productivity and continuous improvement across the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and supervising mobile plant operators and subcontractors on site
  • Supervising civil earthworks activities in accordance with project plans and specifications
  • Planning daily work activities to ensure safe productivity and achievement of targets
  • Leading daily pre-starts and toolbox meetings
  • Monitoring quality and ensuring works meet contractual and client requirements
  • Identifying and resolving construction and engineering issues in collaboration with support teams
  • Monitoring progress of personnel and equipment requirements
  • Confirming quantities and supporting month-end reporting
  • Maintaining a high level of safety performance and leading by example to promote safe work practices
  • Coaching and developing team members to improve capability and performance
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements

About You / Requirements

  • Substantial experience as an Earthworks Supervisor, within a civil infrastructure environment
  • Significant experience working with MRWA on complex infrastructure projects with demonstrable understanding and experience with Main Roads specifications
  • Extensive experience across bulk earthworks and civil construction activities including not but limited to road and pavement construction
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and mentor crews to achieve high performance outcomes
  • Proven capability to plan and supervise works in line with project schedules, safety standards, and production targets
  • Strong safety leadership with a proactive approach to hazard management
  • Experience operating earthmoving equipment relevant to bulk earthworks and pavement construction
  • Statutory 26 appointed preferable but not mandatory
  • C Class Drivers Licence
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills
  • Previous Main Roads experience in a metropolitan based role is essential
