Drill Fitter - Jellinbah (Blackwater region)

We are currently seeking application from experienced Drill or Diesel Fitters for a Full-Time 7/7 DIDO position at our Jellinbah Project located just outside of the local town of Blackwater in Central Queensland.

Experience working on drill rigs is highly desired, however, experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters who may not have worked on drill rigs before are encouraged to apply.

The salary/wage range for this role is $65.00 to $74.00 per hour with Trade-certified Fitters who are new to mining or drill rigs towards the lower end of that range and experienced Drill Fitters and Leading Hands towards the higher end.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Perform scheduled drill servicing across our REICHDrill rigs
• Performing unscheduled repairs
• Prioritising workloads or unscheduled repairs when required
• Supervising and/or coaching the activities of Trainee Fitters
• Maintaining and servicing light vehicles, support trucks and trailers
• Fulfilling all safety requirements and maintenance reporting needs.

ESSENTIAL Skills and requirements include:

• Trade Certificate (Mechanical)
• Hand Tools
• Driver Licence
• High level of diagnostic skills and field service fault finding is highly regarded
• Ability to work autonomously and part of a team
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour

DESIRABLE skills include:

• Heavy machinery maintenance experience
• Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
• Ability to work as part of a small team
• Excellent communication skills and safety awareness
• Working at Heights
